Sea-to-Air Transshipment
An alternative to full air freight: cargo arrives by sea at Malé, is transferred to Velana International Airport and connects to onward international air services.

Our Sea-to-Air solution provides an alternative logistics option for general cargo moving from Asia to international destinations. Cargo can arrive by sea at Malé and subsequently connect to onward international air services through MLE, subject to routing, capacity, airline and applicable operational requirements.
It sits between the two conventional choices. Full air freight from Asia is fast and expensive; port-to-port sea freight is cheap and slow. Moving the long leg by sea and the final leg by air can meet a deadline that pure ocean freight would miss, at a cost that pure air freight would not justify.
What is included
Sea arrival coordination
Vessel information and cargo status monitored from origin departure through discharge at the Port of Malé.
Cargo transfer & coordination
Transfer from the port to Velana International Airport planned as a scheduled step, not improvised on arrival.
Onward air connection
Onward capacity reviewed and booked with the connecting airline against the confirmed transfer window.
Documentation coordination
BL and onward airline documentation aligned so the air leg is not held up by the sea leg paperwork.
Security & acceptance
Cargo security, acceptance and handling requirements verified for the connecting carrier before hand-over.
Status monitoring & exception management
Milestone reporting across both legs, with exceptions escalated to a named coordinator.
